83 is a 2021 Indian Hindi language sports drama movie directed by Kabir Khan and originated by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd.
Planted on the India national cricket team led by Kapil Dev, which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, the movie story and script were co-written by Khan, along with Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, Vasan Bala and Sumit Arora.

The license for making the movie based on India's journey at the 1983 World Cup was owned by Phantom movies, whose director Madhu Mantena and Vishnu Vardhan Induri had formally met the Indian squad of 1983 during mid-July 2016, and its frontman Kapil Dev, and signed a Announcement of understanding (MoU) to make the official biopic.
Later, in September 2017, Reliance Entertainment joined the movie's makers and made an official announcement about the biopic with members of the winning team, where Singh and Khan brought on board for the project as the lead actor and director respectively.

Following an extensive casting and pre-production process, the moviebegan principal photography on 5 June 2019, where it was majorly shot in and around England for three months and a brief schedule took place in India, before movieing being wrapped up on 7 October.
Earlier scheduled for an 10 April 2020 release, the movie was changed from its release date several times due to the casting and pre-production works that delayed movieing, and also due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, thus resulting the movie to be delayed entirely till 2020.

The movie was premised at the Red Sea International movie Festival on 15 December and released in 5,000 theatres worldwide on 24 December 2021 in conventional 2D and 3D formats, distributed by Reliance Entertainment and PVR Pictures.
The movie was dubbed and released almost in all language Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages, apart from the real version.
The movie received good response from authority and audiences, praising the act of the cast, screenplay, direction and technical aspects.
